Women’s Sports Week

boxingForget Ladies Night, this 3rd-9th October is Women’s Sports WEEK! After another fantastic Olympic and Paralympic Games for Team GB in Rio, our friends over at the WomensSportsNetwork (WSN) are helping to promote a week dedicated to getting more women involved in sport all around the UK.

Clubs can get involved by promoting their #FemaleFriendly classes on the WSN’s ActiveMapX, a free service provided in partnership with SofaDodger that helps women find sports classes to suit them.

Students and casual members can also get involved by encouraging friends and family to try sport with you as part of the #ACTIV8aFriend initiative, which aims to get more women to invite their friends, families, co-workers and neighbours to give their chosen sport a try! You can find out more about it, here.

“Two of the world’s leading WomenSports brands (The Women’s Sports Network & SofaDodger) are joining forces to support The Department of Culture Media & Sport in the UK with – @WomenSportsWeek.  An opportunity for everybody involved with playing, delivering, leading or working in sport to celebrate, raise awareness and increase the profile of women’s sport across the UK. Various UK agencies supported by National Governing Bodies, Sky Sports, BBC, Sport England, Sport Scotland, Sport Wales are being joined by supporters from across the sport sector.” – www.wsnet.co.uk/WSW2016
